Fall 2020 One Room Challenge | Week 5

Okay, I’m just going to be really honest here. I have been far too distracted this week to be truly productive. I’m sure I’m not alone in that. I still take my work and commitment to this project seriously, but this has felt like a huge time in America history and I’ve personally felt that it’s been important to take it in and see how it’s all playing out. So, I hope you’ll forgive me this once for taking a moment from this world of design I love so much with a huge promise that I plan on delivering an ADORABLE before and after next week!

If you’re not familiar with what the One Room Challenge is, let me fill you in real quick. Each season, (Fall and Spring), twenty featured designers are selected to share their talents with all of those who love design and a serious Before & After. Be sure to check in on those folks right here and be ready to be inspired! In addition, other lovers of design, DIYers, Designers and everyone in between are invited to participate as Guest Participants to show off their projects on the hosts site as well. You can see all of the other spectacular talent here.

WELCOME

If you’re new here, hello! I’m Heather-Scherie. I’ve been a professional Interior Designer for forEVER now and I’m one of the owners of the Whitestone Design Group based in the Greater Seattle Area. I’m a lover of DIY’s, all things design, and great adventures. I have two irresistible little boys, ages two and four, and am the wife to my handsome hubs. My approach to life is not to take anything too seriously and find the joy in every second of it!

I’m going to keep this week kind of quick. All of the styling details have arrived and I’m eager to get all the fun parts of the project installed that really pull things together! This last week will be a stretch to the finish line, but I’m feeling up for the challenge. Here’s a quick run down of the to-dos for both yours and my convenience!

  • have draperies tailored and install them

  • finish installing closet trim and paint

  • build display shelf

  • hang all artwork

  • install desk

  • install ceiling treatment

  • dress beds

  • finish all the styling details

  • photograph

  • share the joy of my sweet little boy with all!

I wish that I could share a few more progress pictures with you all, but at this point I think I’ll be giving too much away. I’m excited for next week. There are going to be so many beautiful spaces and I’m personally going to be checking on every single one! Thank you all for stopping by. See you next week!
