Baby P's Gender Neutral Nursery
Although my passion for Interior Design is wrapped up in construction and remodels, this particular design plan was most certainly the closest project to my heart. When my husband and I found out that we were expecting, we had NO CLUE how excruciating the waiting period for our little bundle to arrive would be... Our bedside tables were piled with baby books, our date night conversations suddenly filled up with name options for our little nugget, and all of my design focus had shifted to... THE NURSERY!!
Yes, were (and still are) that couple that chose to wait until our delivery day to find our the gender of our baby. I know that it is really challenging for my husband and me when we had our doctors appointments knowing that they information we were so eager to here was right there in that manila folder the doctor carried. But, in the end, we didn't care whether we had a boy or a girl and therefore, didn't see a reason to find out the sex. When it came to doing the nursery it did provide some challenges. I found that so many of the adorable things out there for newborns have become so gender specific!! However, I throughly enjoyed the challenge and I'm so in love with the outcome.
Here are some of the details that make me fall in love with this space every time I sit in it. Although our sweet boy is growing up quickly, I still thoroughly enjoy my time sitting in his room humming him to sleep in the rocking chair. I know one day I will have to mold this space into a "big boy" room, but for now, I'm still soaking in all the precious details that make this gender neutral nursery so special to me.
Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by and take a peek at this sweet little nursery. I'm so passionate about baby spaces and if you'd like to see more of how I came to all my design decisions for our nursery, check out my family|manzer baby Pinterest Page.
